| Oppose ACLU’s evil pursuits
It was interesting to read the responses to Mont Poulsen's passionate opinion several weeks ago concerning homosexuals. Mr. Poulsen finds it appalling that USU hired at taxpayer expense someone to "keep homosexuals and transsexuals safe." Since this was in quotes I assume that was what was said in the report. Jami Beth claims it is not a security organization but a guidance and support program. Be that what it may, the government, either state or federal, has no business sponsoring a program like this. Mont asks some simple questions which probably most parents in Cache Valley would ask. The responses in the opinion column are about what I had expected from the liberal contingent in the area. Some think that all of the homosexual community just live their life privately and there is no effort to recruit.

Rudy survives the Russert crucible
On paper, Rudy Giuliani is the candidate most likely to create major fireworks in a "Meet The Press" grilling. His public and private record is so checkered with personal and professional misdeeds that one could easily imagine NBC's Tim Russert tearing him apart. But Giuliani, a veteran of the New York press corps, also knows how to handle tough questions. He doesn't get flustered. He can takes control of the facts. And so on Sunday, with some help from a restrained Russert, Giuliani mostly skated through his big Sunday test. Mostly, he survived by frankly admitting some of his mistakes, and then arguing others. When asked why he had not been better briefed as New York mayor on the al-Qaida threat, he said bluntly, "I didn't see the enormity of it, neither did the administration at the time." When asked about abandoning the 9/11 commission to give speeches, he said he should never have joined the panel, since he had other concerns at the time, including his own possible presidential run.
Writing the Book on Self-Help: A Publisher's Cautionary Tale
The self-publishing business has come a long way in the Internet era. Literary do-it-yourselfers now have many online resources to tap, and even a growing number of role models. Best-selling authors including E. Lynn Harris ("I Say a Little Prayer") and the pseudonymous Zane ("Addicted") have emerged from the self-published ranks. .
Dow, S&P indexes fall; Nasdaq ekes out gain
Wall Street ended Wednesday's session mixed as investors wrestled with a troubling outlook for bond insurers, a $9.4 billion writedown at Morgan Stanley and concerns that the economy is headed for recession. Not all of Wednesday's news was bad. Morgan Stanley managed to get a $5 billion investment from an arm of the Chinese government, and the Federal Reserve said its Monday auction of $20 billion in 28-day credit was met with solid demand -- signs that there is cash out there to help the struggling banking industry recover. But with just seven trading days left in 2007 and little data to convince Wall Street that the economy is on the upswing, investors hesitated to make any big bets on stocks. "The sign that the selling is over is when bad news doesn't make stocks go down anymore," said Matt Kelmon of Kelmoore Strategy Funds.
A real Democrat
John Moynihan will bring the change that is so desperately needed in the state of Illinois. He will provide the representation of the people and not the insider power elite of a party. Putting people before party is what the people need in our representatives to get out of the political quagmire that has stalemated progress in this state. .
Where can you smoke?
That will drastically decrease the amount the government gets off cigarette sales. I'm not a smoker myself, but I was against the ban because it set a very important precedent for banning something because there's a mob of people that don't like it. " .
