Mitchell Johnson, who served time for helping kill five people during an 1998 ambush in a Jonesboro school yard, could only dream of California as he sat handcuffed in the back of a police cruiser on New Year's Day 2007. Deputies allegedly found two weapons while searching Johnson's vehicle after they said they also found an ounce of marijuana in his pocket. Johnson told authorities he and the other man in the vehicle, Justin Trammell, were moving to Carlsbad, Calif., south of Los Angeles. Johnson, now 23, was to go on trial Monday in federal court on one count of possession of a firearm while either a user or addicted to a controlled substance. He faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted. "Honest to God, I'm just trying to get to Cali, man," Johnson told deputies as they searched the loaded-down, 1980s Ford van at a Fayetteville convenience store.
'Amazed' Djokovic upends top-seeded Federer
The loss for Nadal was his worst since the 2004 U.S. Open - Federer's was his worst since the 2004 French Open. Federer had the chance to serve for the first set at 5-3, but missed. His missed some touch volleys and he missed some forehands that usually are his trademark. Djokovic broke twice to win that set and twice more to get to 5-1 in the second in an 11-game sequence that changed the match. "I was able to deal with the pressure in the best possible way. And if you do that against the best player in the world, you should get the positive outcome," Djokovic said. "I'm very happy that in crucial moments my serve was serving me, and it was probably my best element in the game." The 20-year-old Serb said it's important for tennis to shake things up.

Ellington keen to seize his chance
NOT many people connected with Watford were pleased when the club accepted Fulham's bid for Marlon King last week. In fact, many supporters were outraged. However, Nathan Ellington could have been forgiven for raising a brief smile. The striker has hardly had a sniff since he arrived from West Bromwich Albion in August amid a huge fanfare and he was starting to look like an expensive back-up striker to Darius Henderson and King. .
