U.S. Teens Spending Power for Crucial Holiday Season Could Bode Well ...

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- OTX (Online Testing eXchange), a leading global consumer research and consulting firm, released new results from its Teen Topix study. The Teen Topix survey taps into the complex lives of the 13-17 year old set and is done in conjunction with eCRUSH, a leading PG-13 social networking site. 750 teens across the country were surveyed about their gift buying behavior and preferences for the coming holiday season.

A key finding of the study was that 95% of teens chose shopping at stores and malls, over catalog and online. However, 65% of teens say they use the Internet to find out about new, cool products, friends come in a close second at 62%, and 54% of teens find about new products from commercials on TV.

When asked about specific types of stores they will shop at this holiday season, Electronics (46%), Bath/body (45%), and music stores (41%) led the way.

Hawaii show suspended after racist comments

Chapman did not return messages left on his cell phone or at his Queen Emma Street bail business, Da Kine Bail Bonds. Chapman's publicist, Mona Wood, said yesterday that Chapman would not grant interviews.

He canceled all appearances, including one tonight on the new, local TV show, "NightTime With Andy Bumatai," which was to air Nov. 7, Wood said.

SERIOUS MATTER

In a statement, Michael Feeny, senior vice president of AETN Corporate Communications, said, "A&E has just learned of the story released by the National Enquirer concerning Duane Dog Chapman. We take this matter very seriously. Pending an investigation, we have suspended production on the series. When the inquiry is concluded, we will take appropriate action."

Reruns of the show were still listed on A&E's online TV schedule yesterday.

Police say speed may have been factor in deadly crash

Twenty-two-year-old Kelly Ann Richer and 18-year-old Heather Drew died Thursday when the car they were driving in spun around and hit a tree broadside.

Police said they were not wearing seat belts. They're also investigating whether either of the women were drinking.

The crash happened just a mile from Drew's home.

Friends remembered the pair as vivacious and fun-loving women who loved the outdoors.

Richer worked at nearby stables. Drew, who'd dropped out of high school, was thinking of returning.

McCain and Romney trade sharp attacks in Florida

He cited Romney's support as governor for a regional greenhouse gas emissions control program, for a lenient policy toward illegal immigrants and for campaign finance revisions, all positions he has reversed as a presidential candidate. "People, just look at his record as governor," McCain said. "He has been entirely consistent. He has consistently taken two sides of every major issue, sometimes more than two. So congratulations."

McCain also went after Romney for his work as head of Bain Capital, a leveraged-buyout firm. "As head of his investment company he presided over the acquisition of companies that laid off thousands of workers."

The governor also said he will revive a bill to give same-sex couples some of the legal benefits that married couples have. Nine other states allow gay partners to enter into civil unions or domestic partnerships, while Massachusetts is the only state that sanctions same-sex marriage. .

Grab a closet full of 'Peanuts' on eBay

Best friend. Ace pilot. Arguably Lucy's first kiss.

And now, Snoopy is adding "fashion icon" to his lengthy list.

The first-ever "MetLife Snoopy in Fashion" runway show was held during last month's New York Fashion Week, featuring one-of-a-kind "Peanuts"-inspired couture designs by talents like Isaac Mizrahi, Betsey Johnson, and Oklahoma-native and Tony Award-winner Kristin Chenoweth.

Not only can you see these creations yourself, you can own one. That's because these original designs and more are being auctioned in three waves on eBay this month, with proceeds donated to Dress for Success.

Included in the last wave is Chenoweth's design, a bedazzled Sally frock, obviously an homage to the character she played on Broadway. It's shown here, modeled by pop princess JoJo.
